Revealing your expericences and what helped: More real, less fake.
That question has since led me to have hundreds of conversations, establish research and gather insights to understand what we experience when life happens and what truly helps you know, those times of busyness, overwhelm, excitement, new life, loss of life, illness, recovery, marriage, divorce, caring for kids, teenagers, parents, siblings, menopause, career highs and lows and, for you, maybe the list goes on
My reason? I don’t think we should be doing it alone, and as life gets busier, it can feel like sometimes we are. Because oddly, despite having access to almost anything at our fingertips, it can be really hard to show up and help the ones we love when they need it. And it’s not because we don’t want to (we do), it’s because we don’t talk about how to.
But, what if showing up for each other and our inner circle was easier?
What if we started to share the stories, insights and learnings from our collective life experiences to help ourselves, and the ones we love, when life happens?
And, what if we allowed these insights to inform the way we look at gift giving?
Three years later, I’m really proud to say that my learnings have turned into We are The Helpful; a curated gifting marketplace that focuses on gifting help, not just stuff.
And I've recently launched the site.
The products and services that fill the site are informed by real customer stories and experiences - the insights that I have gathered from the hundreds of conversations I’ve had. It’s a curated gifting destination that provides an answer to my original question: ‘How can I help her (him or them) through this?’
I hope you join me as I take the leap and continue to build, ask questions, have the chats, learn and gather insights.
This is just the first step; the more I learn the stronger the site will be, so please, if you have a story to share, have feedback or commentary; I would love to hear it. We are The Helpful is literally built on your experiences, and what helped.
So, what helped you when life happened?
I'd love to hear all about it (and I mean that - you can contact me here).
