About Gentle Habits

Gentle Habits is about more than incense. It’s about creating space to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect to yourself - in small, meaningful ways.

They don’t tell you what your ritual should be. Instead, they create grounded products to help you find what works for you. A flicker of flame. A familiar scent. A reminder to pause.

This is Incense was the first Gentle Habits product. Sophie, the founder, created it as a way to manage the overwhelm of modern life and find her own rhythm again. It started with a single idea in the shower - and grew into a global brand with a cult following.

What makes This is Incense different?

Each scent is blended with essential oils inspired by real Australian places. The incense is hand-dipped in Victoria and packed with care - clean burning, slow and considered.

These aren’t overpowering, perfumed sticks. They’re soft, grounding, transportive.

• Yamba is delicate and earthy with notes of cedarwood, vetiver and patchouli. Created to smell like paradise in a box, it brings a grounded sense of calm - the kind that lingers after a swim and a moment in the sun.
• Bondi is bright, citrusy and clean - a blend of grapefruit, cardamom and cedarwood. It smells like summer on the coast, fresh towels, and a clear head. Light it when you need to shift gears or brighten your space.
• Byron Bay is woody, warm and nostalgic. A delicate blend of white cypress, rosalina and sea salt, grounded with soft cedarwood. It smells like long, salty afternoons and barefoot evenings that stretch into the night.
• Tasmania is dark, stormy and sultry. With deep notes of leather, black pepper and frankincense, it evokes roaring coastlines, rugged stillness, and slow evenings with a scotch in hand.
• Connect with Cedarwood, Leather, Star Anise. Light up this warm, spicy-sweet burner with a hint of Black Leather and immerse in a sensory experience to set the mood and deepen moments of connection. 
• Grounded is a rich, complex blend of 11 essential oils including Australian sandalwood, vanilla, nutmeg and ylang ylang. Sweet, warm and layered, it’s designed to anchor you, calm your body, and bring you back to now.
• Dreamland is soft and subtle, made for bedtime. With lavender, chamomile and sandalwood, it helps cue your body and brain to slow down. A gentle nudge into rest.
• Electric Dreams is warm, woody and softly spiced - with top notes of bergamot, heart notes of vetiver, and a base of amber, vanilla and cedarwood. Designed for creative rituals, it’s playful but grounded - a spark of inspiration with a nostalgic edge.
